Mom Sexy

Mary over at The Mommyologist has a great idea. We moms should feel sexy in our own skin regardless of how we look, our weight, the size of our baby rolls, the gray hairs, hairdo, lines, wrinkles and neglected negligees. Sexy is not a, “damn, girl, you’re so HOT” moment when you catch your image in the mirror whilst stepping out of the shower. It’s an ATTITUDE of deciding you are sexy. Period.

I’m a firm believer in putting out there what you want. If you believe it with all of your heart, it comes. Seriously. Sometimes it’s kind of fast, like what happened earlier this month. But that’s not the only example. When I was but a lonely, single lady with two dogs and a cat, I received some really cool advice I’ll never forget:

“You need to go around and just fall in love with everything around you. Love the trees, the flowers, the animals, the sun, the rain, everything. When you’re loving and enjoying everything, you smile and you project that love. When you meet “the one,” he’ll have no choice but to fall for you.”

At first I thought this was a bit touchy feely for me, but the more I thought about it, the science behind it was very sound. When you’re happy and have the right attitude, you attract people and opportunities. And you know what? Hubby stumbled upon my newly attitude changed  self the very next month.

So Mary asked what that one thing was that I needed to let go of in order to embrace my Mom Sexy. As I mentioned in my last couple of posts, the stress of wanting to stay home with the kids paired with my son’s indecision on whether or not to wean (even though I’m not ready) has me feeling less than sexy lately. That is to say, I’m not feeling so hot about myself in many ways. So the stress that I’m entirely responsible for putting on myself is what’s blocking me. Here’s to saying, “to hell with you stress over stupid lame stuff that really shouldn’t matter to a hill of beans.”

I am now going to embrace my Mom Sexy. This should come in handy for my assignment this weekend

This was such an awesome post!!! I couldn’t agree more about the happy/positive attitude thing. When you are feeling good, it totally attracts people and good energy to you and the same rings true for projecting the negative!

Letting go of stress will definitely help!!! It is just way to hard to feel sexy when you are that tense!

So glad you jumped on board with Mom Sexy!!!

I too was inspired by Mary Mommyologist and wrote my own Mom Sexy post. Amazing , isn’t it? We can decide to let stuff go and it makes us feel so much better! I love the blogging community…THIS is what it’s all about…empowering ourselves and each other to be the best “me” we can be, right? GREAT post! I’m a new follower too, BTW… =)

Hi there,

I wrote a Mom Sexy post too, and came over from Mary Mommyologist’s Mc Linky. Love your post and you’re so right. I really enjoyed that quote and I think I need to print it out and tape it up all over my house. I have been fighting off a funk lately and I needed to read this. Thank you.

P.S. I’m your newest follower!

I can totally relate — since breastfeeding twins is anything BUT sexy in my book. It really takes it out of me. I’m looking forward to reading more of everyone’s Mom Sexy posts to keep me motivated!
