Accidental Progress

Mr. Man has been on solid food for seven months, but until recently didn’t show any interest in feeding himself. I’ve been at a loss as Sweetness was grabbing the spoon to guide it to her mouth within a couple of months of solid food and was stuffing finger food in her mouth in short order.

Not Mr. Man. Cheerios are for feeding to the dogs. Now, granted he only had his bottom two teeth for two months and those top two just showed up. But that boy can gum when he’s in the mood.

Only in the last month has he started putting things that are actually made to eat in his mouth (mainly sharing what he gives to the dogs.)

Then, today, I put him in his high chair next to the table. After I strapped him in I turned around to get the tray. In the .7 seconds my back was turned, Mr. Man nabbed Mommy’s cookie and dug in. I thought, hum, what the hell. And that boy and gnawed his way through most of that thing, plus a teething biscuitnand piece of banana I put in front of him as well.

Success!

Ryann has recently decided she doesn’t want to eat purees, and is eating like a bird, but only wants to do it herself. She’s 9 months old today. Girls are funny creatures. She sounds a lot like your daughter. Mr. Man was holding out for the good stuff.

Aw, such a little cutie. Sure doesn’t take the little munchkins long to figure it out!
