I suddenly noticed an aphid problem with my roses. Not wanting to get chemicals, I did the good green thing and bought a little tub of ladybugs. Yup, you can buy a hundred or so at the local hardware store. The instructions said water the garden then let them go into the base of the garden, 1/3 of a tub, after sunset as ladybugs don’t fly at night. Repeat every two nights.
They’re getting to work today, and made for a great photographic subject.

Very cool! Several years back, we actually had a ladybug infestation in our house. I have no idea how it happened, but it was weird. And it has not happened since.
